John W. Williams, President of Employee Synergy has been active in the Chicago Land Area business community for over 16 years. After more than 21 years in various Business Management positions with Océ North America including coordination of training for more than 300 Resellers locations of Océ products in the USA, Canada and Latin America, John decided to change careers from the copier / reprographics industry to becoming an entrepreneur as founder of Employee Synergy, a Strategic Partner of Profiles International out of Waco, Texas.

John is a graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management, Majoring in Accounting. John's management background with national and multi-national corporations has included not only Océ North America, but Arlington House Publishers, Chemico Air Pollution Control Corporation, Timex Corporation, General Foods Corporation and Price Waterhouse and Co. While working with these various national and international organizations, John had numerous training courses in Business and Management Applications, developing a vast knowledge and experience in training, managing and developing people and products.

Employee Synergy is an assessment company, servicing those decision makers with people challenges. We help companies solve people challenges, by giving them the information to put the right person in the right position. We provide information companies can use to effectively coach, manage and motivate their employees. Through Employee Synergy, companies will know the employees that they hire to be honest, reliable, drug-free and hard working. Employee Synergy is an information business.

John has sought to pursue a career in helping companies realize the benefits of proper hiring and placing the right person in the right position, through analyzing the "Total Person". Clients will reduce their risk by hiring people who contribute to their success; along with proper team building and communications. This is where the tools of Profiles International can bring a wealth of experience into this endeavor.

John believes that every organization must maintain the right mix of people. Companies often place individuals in assignments, not because it was a good fit, but because an individual was "due" for a promotion.

John has been an active member in the numerous communities he has resided in; John's interests extend beyond business affairs.

  • Serves on the Board of Directors, The Scholar League, Inc.
    • An organization that prepares disadvantaged student athletes for a successful college career by increasing their educational aptitude and athletic prowess. The Scholar League provides a nurturing environment that is committed to aiding students in the development of core competencies necessary for successful academic and athletic careers. In addition, we are committed to fostering civic responsibility in student athletes so that they may become the next generation of educational leaders and community role models to positively affect change in their communities.
  • Member, Alpha Phi Omega
  • Provides on-going support to the Chicago Public League Basketball Coaches Association (CPLBCA)

John's volunteer work has included:

  • Member (4 years) - Communication Cluster, Education-to-Careers (ETC), Chicago Public Schools
  • Developed a Copier Repair Program with curriculum at John F. Kennedy High School (Chicago) generating Internships for students in the program and secured donations from Océ North America to support this program in excess of $300,000.
  • Implemented a Mentoring Program at John F Kennedy High School (Chicago) focusing on developing student job-seeking skills and better understand the value of staying in school. What the program brought to John F. Kennedy High School and Chicago Public Schools is unique - signaling a broader, more hands-on corporate approach to shaping career paths of Chicago young leaders.
